I ensure the rail elements of our tours fit together as seamlessly as possible. This can be a challenge given the large number of train operators we use, the different processes and systems each has and, of course, timetable changes.Biography
After graduating with a degree in economics I decided to travel around the world. I found a passion for exploring new destinations and travel in general. On my return I decided to work in the travel industry and worked my way up the company ladder. A career in the financial sector did not really appeal to me anymore! Every year I still endeavour to travel and experience a new place that I have never visited before…Hong Kong is next on the list.Favourite rail journey
The Jungfrau Railway in Switzerland - it takes you to the highest railway station in Europe and the views from the top are truly incredible. When I was there in the spring time it was a beautifully clear day and the 360° panorama is something to behold. It is also a fascinating feat of engineering.Favourite GRJ tour
Arctic Circle Express. Norway is somewhere I have never been but that I have always been fascinated by. I think this tour gives a great overview of the country taking in the fjords and the coastline, with its unique climate thanks to the gulf stream, as well as the capital city Oslo and some amazing railway journeys. On visiting Narvik you will be able to witness the midnight sun where you will see the sun bounce on the horizon as it sets and rises almost immediately.Top traveller tips
- Travel as lightly as possible - do not worry too much about taking things to cover every eventuality. You will always be able to pick things up whilst abroad.
- Plan beforehand exactly what you want to see and do - on our tours there are free days. Our experienced Tour Managers will also be there to help you with ideas.
- Take plenty of photos and a note book - photos and a travel diary are great mementos of a fantastic trip.
