Sarah MooreProduct Manager
November 2009What I do
As Product Manager I look after the creative research and development of our range of tours to destinations including Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Croatia, South America and South East Asia. Key parts of the role involve securing the best possible rates for our groups, obtaining the correct space with hoteliers, ensuring everything is presented correctly in our brochures, and maintaining great relationships with our suppliers throughout the world.Biography
As a 17-year-old reading a careers advice book, I came across a description of a product manager, and decided that was what I wanted to do! I studied for a degree in Hispanic Studies and spent 2 years living and working in northern Spain, before embarking on my career within the travel industry. My first position was selling holidays over the phone, before I went on to work in operations, and finally moved in to product and contracting 9 years ago. I count myself very lucky to have a job I love and am so passionate about.Favourite rail journey
You can't beat the Swiss railways - they run like clockwork, offer great services with several routes running superb panoramic trains, and travel through some of Europe's most stunning scenery.Favourite GRJ tour
Vietnam, Cambodia and the Mekong Delta is a real adventure tour, and travelling the whole route overland really gives a sense of the land you are travelling through and the people who live there. World famous sights such as Halong Bay and Angkor Wat, coupled with stunning scenery and friendly locals make this tour an unforgettable experience.Top traveller tips
- Don't worry if things don't quite go to plan - stay relaxed and keep an open mind!
- Always pack a large light-weight scarf - useful as a cover up if visiting religious sites, to protect yourself from strong sun, or as an extra bit of warmth if required!
