On selected sailings, we are joined by our special guest speaker, former ITN Royal Correspondent Nicholas Owen.
Royal correspondent, railway enthusiast and journalist Nicholas Owen's illustrious career has taken him to work for some of the highest media players in the UK, in print, on television and on the radio. His most famous position was as the royal correspondent for ITV News, providing coverage for the Royal Family from 1994 to 2000, and he has also reported for the BBC and Channel 4. Nicholas' work in print includes roles at the Evening Standard, the Daily Telegraph and the Financial Times. Alongside all of that, he also presents a Saturday show on Classic FM, and has written various books on Britain's railways and taken part in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
Nicholas Owen will be attending selected departures on two of our Chartered Cruises, those being the 5-Star Danube Cruise and the Spirit of Chartwell on the Douro Cruise. On the Danube cruise, Nicholas' talk will focus on the sublime classical music heritage which the river has inspired, discussing its impact on the cultures of the countries which it passes through. On the Douro cruise, his talk will uncover his impressive knowledge of the British Royal Family, a topic inspired by the Spirit of Chartwell's famous royal heritage.
