Laid out in beautiful gardens close to Sangerhausen, the wonderful Europa Rosarium is now the world's largest rose garden - displaying 8,300 different varieties of the so-called "Queen of Flowers".
The garden was first opened on its present site in 1903, and it is now an impressive 12.5 hectares. Having been cultivated and curated by a society of rose-growing horticulturalists ever since it opened, the Europa Rosarium boasts the most comprehensive collection of roses found anywhere in the world.
