b'DANUBE DELTA GRAND CRUISE - BLACK SEA TO THE DANUBE YOUR ITINERARYDays 1-2 - London and BucharestWe meet at London Heathrow and fly to Bucharest, Romanias capital and an engaging melting pot of history, culture, fine architecture and delightful green spaces. On Day 2, we set out on a guided tour, discovering the blend of medieval homes, palaces and modern skyscrapers that make up this intriguing city. We enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before we board the Amadeus Silver II, settling in with a welcome drink before dinner.Days 3-4 - Danube Delta safari and ConstanaWe hop aboard smaller safari boats for a nature cruise through the UNESCO-listed Danube Delta. The Danube Delta is the worlds third-VELIKO TARNOVO highest biodiversity area, and our cruise gives us the chance to admire unique animals and plants not found anywhere else in the world. This afternoon, we sail towards Fetesti. We visit the port town of Constana on Day 4, discovering the towns intriguing heritage on a guided tour. Constantas history is fascinating, from its Greek origins to its Roman ancestry and Persian influences. We see the Great Mosque, Art Nouveau casino, Genovese lighthouse before visiting the History and Archaeology Museum. Theres free time to stroll along the pristine beach before returning to our ship. Days 5-6 - Veliko Tarnovo and the Iron Gate GorgeWe arrive in Bulgaria, docking in Ruse for a visit to Veliko Tarnovo, one of the countrys oldest towns. Our guided tour introduces us to the Zarewez fortress and the impressive St Peter and Paul church. We also have the chance to discover some of the local arts and crafts. Spend a relaxed day sailing to Belgrade on Day 6, passing through the Iron Gate Gorge. Our KALEMEGDAN FORTRESS Cruise Director provides informative commentary about the area as we sail past mossy cliffs and see the incredible rock carving of Romanian battle hero, Decebalus.Days 7-8 - Belgrade and Hungarian Puszta tourWe moor in the Serbian capital of Belgrade and head out on a guided tour. The citys history is evident in its architecture, and we see the Kalemegdan Fortress, which dates back to the 3rd century, Belgrades National Museum, Terazije Square and the Palace of Princess Ljubica. We arrive in riverside Mohcs on Day 8, where we have free time before venturing into the Puszta area of Hungary, set amongst the Great Hungarian Plains. Our first visit is to a paprika house, where we learn about the spice and taste it in a variety of dishes. Next, we enjoy a traditional folk performance at the former home of a wealthy 19th-century family. We continue into the plains, where we enjoy a glass of wine, sample local delicacies, meet Hungarian half-blood horses and experience a traditional wagon ride. Transferring to Kalocsa afterwards, BUDAPEST we rejoin our ship, where we enjoy a gala dinner this evening. Days 9-10 - BudapestWe arrive Budapest, a city divided by the Danube and sewn together by a collection of impressive bridges. You have free time to explore here before we embark on a Budapest illuminations cruise tonight. Admire the sight of the city bathed in golden light as were entertained by a Hungarian folklore troupe in the bar. On Day 10, we discover more of elegant Budapest on a guided tour, seeing the Parliament Building, the Opera House, St. Stephens Basilica and Budapest Castle. Later, we set sail along the beautiful Danube Bend.
