El Transcantábrico

Spain's first tourist train, built in 1983 from historic 1920s carriages, El Transcantabrico takes you through the lush green land of Northern Spain, in elegance and luxury. Relax in one of the four salon cars, including the panorama car where you can enjoy a drink on plush sofas and watch the landscapes go by the panoramic windows.

Take a seat in the retro bar car, where cocktails are shaken and wine is poured. Or, make your way to the tea room for some quiet time with the views and a good cup of tea.

In the morning, a full buffet and al a carte breakfast is served to you at your table in the restaurant car, by your waiter, and local breakfast items are included.

El Transcantábrico Route

The original Spanish tourist train takes you on an adventure on rails through the lush green regions of Northern Spain. Your journey begins in San Sebastian, a beach resort town that curves around the Bay of Biscay and nestles amid mountainous backdrops and an authentic old town. From here a luxury coach takes you to Bilbao where this historic train is waiting for you.
