Discover the crisp beauty of the Swiss Alps on this comprehensive tour which features iconic rail journeys, spectacular mountain views and wonderful chocolate-box towns. Travel on the Jungfrau Express and stay in charming Grindelwald at a marvelous 5-Star hotel on an all inclusive basis.
Our journey to Switzerland begins at our dedicated St Pancras Departure Office where you meet your group and Tour Manager. Here we board the Eurostar service to Paris, before continuing on to Colmar, where we overnight. We enjoy dinner in the hotel in the evening. On Day 2, we continue into Grindelwald via Basel, where we stay at the Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof.
Today we board the local Grindelwald First cable-car system to ascend the nearby mountain that shares its name with this resort. Journeying up to Grindelwald First in the sky gondola is a true delight and affords some wonderful panoramas of the magnificent Alpine mountainscape. Enjoy some free time here, to breathe the fresh mountain air before returning to Grindelwald.
We travel by rail to the picturesque mountain village of Mürren today. After arriving in the traffic-free village, we continue further into the mountains by cable car, to the peak of the Schilthorn. Once at the summit, you can take in the superb views of the surrounding mountains, and enjoy the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant. You have free time back in Mürren this afternoon, before we return to Grindelwald. On arrival, we take a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride through the town followed by heartsome glühwein and gingerbread.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Grindelwald today. Perhaps take a stroll out into the beautiful town, enjoying the wonderful atmosphere of this magical winter resort.
Today we enjoy what is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our stay in the Bernese Oberland, as we travel on the Jungfrau Railway (Standard Class) to the Jungfraujoch - Europe's highest railway station. During the journey the train pauses at two separate observation stops; windows hewn out of solid Alpine rock between the tunnel and the infamous north face of the Eiger, with spectacular views down to the valley below. Day 7 is free for you to venture out into the beautiful Swiss countryside.
We leave Switzerland behind today, travelling first to Interlaken before continuing to Basel. From here, we continue to Paris to join the Eurostar back to London where your tour concludes.
For this tour, we recommend arriving to, and departing from, London Gatwick or London Heathrow airport (LGW or LHR). London Gatwick is approximately 30 miles from your start and end point, and London Heathrow is approximately 19 miles from your start and end point.

The high speed Eurostar trains link St Pancras International in London with Paris and Lille in France as well as Brussels in Belgium.
Eurostar's Standard Class coaches feature two seats on either side of the central aisle, most of which is arranged in an 'airline' seating configuration with drop down tray tables. There are two tables for four per carriage. Passengers travelling in Eurostar Standard Class coaches can take advantage of the Bar-Buffet which sells a range of snacks, meals, hot and cold drinks - including Champagne!
The highest class of Eurostar travel available for leisure customers is Standard Premier Class. In your dedicated Standard Premier carriage you'll find a less dense seat configuration, meaning the seats are larger and you have ample space to relax and stretch out. As part of the service you'll enjoy complimentary drinks and refreshments, served at your seat by friendly, helpful waiting staff.
