Escorted Rail Tours to Les Diablerets

A stunning glacial sight

The village of Les Diablerets is located at an altitude of 3,937 feet (1,200 metres), between the chic mountain resort of Gstaad and the waters of Lake Geneva. It is surrounded by unspoilt nature at the foot of an impressive Alpine massif, capped by one of Switzerland's most beautiful glaciers. The imposing rock wall of the mountain massif that surrounds Les Diablerets was regarded as a dangerous and cursed place during the Middle Ages - the name of the village is derived from the French word 'diable', meaning 'devil'. The resort is a hub of winter sports activity, and in fact offers year-round skiing on the Glacier 3000 area above the village. There is also a network of 155 miles (250 kilometres) of walking trails in the area surrounding Les Diablerets.
