The itinerary for your journey
Tour highlights
Day 1 - Arrive in Cheshire
Grosvenor Pulford Hotel Spa

Meet your Tour Manager at the elegant 4-Star Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa located just outside Chester. During our introductory welcome meeting, we enjoy a hot drink and some mince pies. The rest of the day is at leisure, until dinner, where we are welcomed by a Town Crier, who entertains us with a talk during our meal.

Day 2 - Exploring Chester
Grosvenor bridge, Chester

It is Christmas Eve in Chester, and we embark on a delightful and informative guided tour. We see some of the main sights in Chester, including the ancient Walls, and the intricate and elegant Eastgate Clock. The clock has stood on the site, which marks the entrance to the original Deva Victrix Roman fortress, since 1897, and is thought to be the second most photographed clock in Britain. We also walk by Chester Cathedral, and by the beautiful river.

After our tour, we venture to Dunham Massey by coach. Here, we are enthralled by the beautiful Christmas Lights Trail, which adds a touch of mystical beauty to the scene, and really adds to the majesty of this festive season. We return to our hotel for dinner this evening.

Day 3 - Christmas Day
Christmas Lunch

Our entire day is at leisure today, with the main focus being on the delights of Christmas fare. After breakfast, you are at leisure, perhaps to partake in a festive quiz. Lunch is served with all the trimmings, ahead of an afternoon at leisure, where you can choose to partake in the blackjack and roulette tables. This evening, there is a light festive buffet, followed by a live disco.

Days 4-5 - Pontcysyllte aqueduct and home
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

Today, we cross over the border into North Wales, and Llangollen Wharf. Here, we take a boat journey across the Pontcysyllte aqueduct, the highest of its kind in the world, and the oldest of its kind in Great Britain. This aqueduct has carried boats over the valley cut by the River Dee since 1805, and boasts of 18 enormous spans. So incredible is the feat of engineering posed by this aqueduct, it has been given UNESCO World Heritage status.

After our trip, we walk to the railway station for a return journey on the Llangollen Railway to Carrog. This route takes us through some of Wales' most beautiful countryside, and is a delight to journey on. This evening, there is live entertainment after dinner at the hotel to celebrate Boxing Day, and the end of the tour.

On Day 5, you are free to leave at leisure.
