Today we travel to the Royal Cornwall Showground near Wadebridge. At this time of year, the showgrounds host the Cornwall Flower Show. Organised by the Cornwall Garden Society, the event showcases the very best of Britain's colourful floral beauty in springtime; daffodils and other plant bulbs abound, as do magnolias and ornamental shrubs. The diverse exhibits range from show gardens to floral art, utilising an array of different plants. Many respected experts and professionals are on hand to give talks and advice on how to create your ideal garden, and a number of trade stands ensure you can pick up those handy horticultural aids. You can explore the exhibits at your own pace.

Day 3 - Lost Gardens, Bodmin & Wenford Railway

This morning we visit the former Tremayne Estate, home to the extraordinary Lost Gardens of Heligan. The gardens were neglected in the aftermath of the First World War, but captured the public's imagination when they were lovingly restored to their former glory in the 1990s.

You are free to explore the site at your leisure. Strewn as they are with unusual features, exotic flora and unique and incredible arrangements, the Lost Gardens truly exude a magical and almost otherworldly ambience. We continue to Bodmin, where we join the famous Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway, for a nostalgic and scenic return journey in a heritage heritage carriages, enjoying a 13-mile trip through the Cornwall countryside. Today, the railway has firmly established itself as one of the country's finest steam railways, and it's easy to see why.

A very good 3day tour of the cornish gardens, would just say too long at the actual flower show on the first day. We could have done another outing in the afternoon , otherwise an excellant tour, wonderful driver on those very small cornish roads!, very good tour guide Alan, hotel first class. Thank your very much. Rosemary Titford

Excellent short holiday break. Hotel was generally very good but catering (both at breakfast and dinner) was somewhat disorganised and bar prices were very high. GRJ could have been more informative about travelling from St Austell Station to the hotel with taxi advice and the fact that an hourly bus service passed the hotel drive entrance from St Austell Station.
