Ocean train
The Ocean takes us from Quebec, across New Brunswick to Nova Scotia and our destination, Halifax - the provincial capital.
We travel in Sleeper Touring Class (formerly Easterly Class), the best accommodation on board. The twin cabins are comfortable and private and consist of comfortable seating during the day which converts to cosy upper and lower berths at night. The cabins feature a washbasin, mirror and WC. All cabins are fully serviced by the on-board crew and passengers enjoy complimentary toiletries, towels and bottles of water.
The Ocean's Sleeper Touring Class passengers have exclusive use of the Park Car at the rear of the train, which plays host to a 'maritime learning experience', with presentations about Eastern Canada. The Park Car's observation dome offers spectacular 360 degree views of the passing scenery, whilst the Bullet Lounge offers views from its comfy armchairs and huge wrap-around windows as well as complimentary fruit, and non-alcoholic beverages. The Park Car's Mural Lounge features a curved 1950s-style bar.
All meals are included and are served in the dining car, which has a maritime ambience. The menu features a selection of regional specialities.
Please note that Sleeper Touring Class is not available on our May departure, when we travel in Sleeper Class. The accommodation and meal arrangements are the same as Sleeper Touring Class but passengers do not have access to the Park Car.
