We depart St Pancras International to Brussels by Eurostar in Standard Premier Class. From Brussels we continue by high-speed rain to Cologne, where we stay overnight. On Day 2 we travel through Germany on the high-speed rail service to Prague, where we tay for three nights at the Park Inn. (Day 1-E,D; Day2-B,D)
On Day 3 we explore historic Prague on a guided sightseeing tour through the narrow streets of he Old Town. Amongst the sights we see Hradcany Castle, St Vitus' Cathedral, 14th century Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square, which is home to the Astronomical Clock and the Tyn Church, and boasts the Jan Hus Monument in its centre. We also visit Wenceslas Square, the city's favoured shopping district. Day 4 is at leisure, though your Tour Manager will be available to arrange an optional boat trip on the River Vltava (payable locally), and an optional dinner together tonight. (Day 3-B,D; Day 4-B)
Today we make the rail journey to Dresden. Here we transfer to Meissen, the first European town to produce porcelain. We spend two nights here at the Welcome Parkhotel. You are free to visit the Porcelain Factory, or perhaps take in the Gothic castle and cathedral, and the town's many Renaissance buildings. On Day 6 we travel by train (Standard Class) to Dresden, one of Germany's most beautiful cities. On arrival, a guided walking tour introduces the city's famous sights such as the Zwinger Palace, the Opera House and the Church of Our Lady. We then have free time to explore before returning to Meissen (Day 5-B,D; Day 6-B)
This morning we transfer to Dresden, where we join the rail service for the short journey to Berlin. Here we enjoy a three-night stay at the Hotel Andel's. Experience the best of Berlin on Day 8, as we embark on an introductory cruise along Berlin's waterways. Navigating the River Spree, we pass the historic Nikolai Quarter, Berlin Cathedral, Museum Island, the Reichstag building and Charlottenburg Palace. (Day 7-B,D; Day 8-B,D)
Day 9 is free for you to explore Berlin at your leisure. Among the many interesting sights are the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and Unter den Linden avenue, which leads to the soaring TV tower and World Clock. You could also pay a visit to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. On Day 10 we take a train via Cologne to Brussels, and join the Eurostar to London. (Day 9-B; Day 10-B,E)
