We depart St Pancras International by Eurostar to Brussels and continue to Amsterdam, where our floating hotel is moored. After settling in to your cabin the crew greet you with a welcome cocktail. This evening we dine on board, and later you have the option to take a riverboat to discover the charms of this magnificent city at night. (D)
This morning we reach Kinderdijk. Here you can join the optional excursion to visit the village's famous windmills. As the world's largest concentration of windmills, this is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Later we cruise towards Nijmegen - an ideal chance to make use of the ship's many facilities. (B,L,D)
Today you are free to explore Nijmegen, the Netherlands' oldest city. Alternatively you could join the optional visit to the Kröller Müller Museum, which displays a large collection of works by Van Gogh, Picasso and the Impressionists. (B,L,D)
We arrive in the magnificent city of Cologne, where you can join the optional guided tour, taking in the Old Town and the magnificent Gothic Cathedral. We return to the ship and enjoy lunch as we cruise towards Koblenz. Set at the meeting point of the Rhine and Moselle, Koblenz is a pretty town at the northern end of the Rhine Gorge. We arrive in the early evening, and here you are free to explore its historic streets. (B,L,D)
This morning we cruise down the scenic Rhine Gorge. This beautiful landscape, with its brooding castles and vineyards, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We pass the famous Lorelei Rock during the journey, and this afternoon we reach Rüdesheim. You may wish to join the optional tour to one of the local wine cellars, with a visit to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet. We continue to the Imperial town of Boppard, where you can join the ship's host for a walking tour. (B,L,D)
After a leisurely morning, we arrive in Düsseldorf, one of Germany's largest cities. An optional walking tour of the city, where you can discover the upmarket Königsallee and the authentic Old Town, is available. After dinner on board, we enjoy an evening of entertainment. (B,L,D)
We arrive in Amsterdam, a city famous for its network of canals. Here you are free to explore, or perhaps join the optional guided tour to admire its beautiful architecture. Back on board this evening we enjoy a gala dinner followed by an evening of entertainment. On Day 8 we disembark, and take the train to Brussels. Here we join the Eurostar to St Pancras International in London. (Day 7-B,L,D; Day 8-B)
