After an overnight in the delightful city of Dijon, if the weather is clear, there are stunning views as we approach the Alps across Switzerland's central valley. We were thrilled as we didn't expect anything so spectacular. And the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau were with us for the rest of the week.

Having seven nights in one, very attractive, Art Nouveau hotel, with helpful and friendly staff is a plus, and there is so much to see and do close by: waterfalls and gorges, amazing mountain railway and cable car journeys to spectacular viewpoints, and a day on the lake and in the town of Lucerne.

Most of the week involves travelling on the superb, integrated Swiss transport system. Trains run regularly and on time, our carriages are reserved, clean and comfortable, and there are many free time options, on lakes, up mountains and in towns. A customer commented, 'I just didn't expect this trip to be anywhere near as good as it was'.
