  • Day 1 - To Bowness-on-Windermere

    Your Tour Manager greets you in the 4-star Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel. After time to settle in, we meet for dinner this evening in the hotel's restaurant.


  • Day 2 - Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway

    Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway

    This morning we travel by coach to Haverthwaite, where we board the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway to Lakeside on Windermere's shore. Here we take to the water, enjoying a relaxing steamer cruise across Windermere to Bowness. You are free to explore Bowness for the remainder of the day.


  • Day 3 - The 10 Lakes Spectacular excursion


    Today we travel by minibus for the '10 Lakes Spectacular' excursion, covering Ullswater, Buttermere, and Borrowdale. Magnificent scenery of mountains, valleys and lakes awaits us, as we travel over precarious passes, through dramatic valleys and past cascading waterfalls. The tour also includes a lake cruise and a visit to the 4,000 year old Castlerigg Stone Circle.

  • Day 4 - At leisure in Bowness-on-Windermere


    Your day is free for you to explore at your own pace. Relax in Lindeth Howe's parlour library, stroll around its gorgeous landscaped gardens or enjoy the hotel's leisure facilities. The excellent Blackwell Arts & Crafts House is within walking distance of the hotel, and you could also visit the Windermere Steamboat Museum. Alternatively, you could explore historic Bowness, discovering its proud connections to the author William Wordsworth.


  • Day 5 - Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

    Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

    Today we travel towards the coast to board the enchanting Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, passing between rugged hills dotted with sheep. We enjoy breathtaking views as the line climbs up the valley to Dalegarth, nestling at the foot of England's highest mountains, the Scafell Range. We then continue by rail along the Cumbrian Coast Line, with dramatic seascapes to one side and the brooding fells of the Lakes to the other. Disembarking at Workington we continue to Keswick by coach, then returning to the hotel.

  • Day 6 - Homeward Bound

    Lindeth Howe Hotel, Bowness

    After breakfast this morning the tour concludes and you are free to embark on the journey home.
