One of the all-time favourites for me as a Tour Manager is the Glacier Express. Dining on the train whilst marvelling at the wonderful scenery gliding past the carriage windows takes some beating, although the Bernina Express comes a very close second. Going where one would never imagine a railway could be built, this fabulous train takes us to the Italian part of Switzerland.
The trip to Zermatt was, for many, a particular favourite. This picturesque town with its traffic-free streets offers a wealth of opportunities whilst all the time being aware of the Matterhorn towering above. A trip up the Gornergrat rack railway offers spectacular views and an unforgettable experience.
The Glacier Express tour offers a marvellous introduction to Switzerland. The "chocolate box" scenery, a pristine countryside and a public transport system that works! So many happy memories.
