This is number one of GRJ's Alpine tours: the one that truly encapsulates the real, live mountain rail journey. It is a two-centre holiday using classic Swiss hotels where the food, accommodation and care for us is exceptional.

Clients love Switzerland and the never ending pristine landscape. Every available piece of land is cultivated and utilised. The transport system is fully integrated and totally reliable; as a consequence even the most nervous passengers quickly get used to the ease with which they can travel around and exploit their included Swiss Pass.

Planned day excursions are by rail although the travel pass means that buses and boats can also be employed. However, the undoubted highlight is the rail journey over the Bernina Pass. This is probably the best one day rail trip in the whole of the GRJ portfolio - comfortable panoramic coaches, glaciers and mountain scenery made accessible by extraordinary feats of railway engineering.
