Be dazzled by the islands and cities of the sparkling Dalmatian Coast. Sample the delights of Split, the natural majesty of Mljet National Park and the eternal splendor of Dubrovnik before experiencing Dalmatia's most delightful beach and absorbing the quaint charm of Hvar.
Our journey begins at London Heathrow as we take the morning flight to Zagreb, arriving around midday. Enjoy free time in Zagreb, Croatia's capital, which showcases striking Austro-Hungarian architecture, crowned with pretty terracotta roofs and green copper domes. Perhaps visit the historic Gornji Grad (Upper Town) ahead of our first dinner together this evening. Tonight, we overnight in Zagreb.
Today we transfer from our hotel to Zagreb station and travel by to Split. This line is particularly revered for its fantastic scenery and we pass majestic mountains, lakes and pretty vineyards all characterised by verdant scenery.
Split sits neatly between the azure Adriatic Sea and the rocky Marjan Hill, and on arrival in the town we board our ship. This afternoon we enjoy a guided tour of Split, followed by a welcome cocktail on board, where we have the chance to meet the crew members aboard our floating hotel, before enjoying dinner on board.
We depart early this morning on our ship and cruise towards Korčula, where we stop for lunch in one of the secluded bays along the way. Korčula sits like a diamond on the Dalmatian coastline, its white-grey houses and terracotta roofs contrasting strikingly with the blues of the Adriatic. We take a guided walking tour of Korčula town and visit a local winery to sample some authentic local wines.
This morning we cruise to the Mljet National Park, where two connected salt water lakes and a collection of small, verdant islands are ringed by turquoise waters and enveloped in the deep blue of the Adriatic Sea. We cruise to St Mary Isle and visit the Benedictine monastery, whose pale stones contrast fantastically with the deep blues and greens of the Mljet seascape - making the monastery stand out arrestingly.
We then cruise on to Dubrovnik and Gruz Harbour, and enjoy the sights of the Old Town walls as and indulge in a buffet dinner on the ship's top deck, while the sights of Dubrovnik come into view.
We take a walking tour of majestic Dubrovnik this morning. The Old Town here charms visitors with its splendour, and its collection of narrow streets, lined with cafés and restaurants, are part of a UNESCO-listed site. Orange-tinged terracotta roofs, domed spires and ancient walls abound, and simply walking around is a delight.
The afternoon and evening is yours to explore the city further at your own pace; perhaps walk along the ancient fortified walls and look out across the bay. You are free to make your own way back to the ship.
Today we cruise to the seaside village of Slano and transfer by coach to the world-renowned Bay of Ston, which produces some of the freshest oysters in the whole of the Adriatic. After some time to look around, this afternoon we are treated to an exclusive oyster tasting experience. We continue our indulgence this evening, as we make our way to a nearby restaurant for a traditional meal of locally caught seafood, prepared in a typically Croatian way.
We sail towards Hvar this morning. En-route we stop for lunch at sparkling Šcedro, and then cruise on to the Pakleni Islands, where we have chance to take a dip in the warm, blue-green sea. We arrive in Hvar this afternoon, where we take a sightseeing tour. Hvar has a quaint atmosphere; its buildings retain a sand swept façade and the town square is a particularly photogenic place to enjoy.
This morning we cruise to the simply stunning island of Brac, where we visit the town of Bol, a traditional fisherman's town that basks in the spectacular scenery of the Dalmatian Coast. Here we will stop at Zlatni Rat, which is perhaps one of the most delightful beaches in Europe and certainly the most popular on the Dalmatian Coast. We enjoy some free time in Bol before the Captain's Farewell Dinner and a night of live entertainment.
We sail into Split this morning, where we disembark and join a private coach for our excursion to Šibenik where we have a guided tour. We later visit to the UNESCO protected St. Jacob cathedral followed by wine tasting near Primosten. We continue to Zagreb where we overnight. On Day 10 we check out of our hotel ahead of some free time in Zagreb, and our transfer to the airport. On arrival in the UK, our holiday comes to an end.
