What's included?
The price of every Great Rail Journeys train journey in Europe includes all accommodation and transport as well as a selection of excursions and meals (detailed in the individual holiday itinerary). A Tour Manager is on hand through the holiday, ready to deal with any small issues that arise and share their knowledge of the regions and events that you visit.
The programme of excursions that is included in each rail tour is carefully created to introduce guests to the natural, cultural and historical highlights of the countries, towns and cities that you visit. Examples of excursions include city tours, reindeer sleigh rides and concerts. Our most popular excursions are often the journeys on heritage railways. These often give guests the opportunity to witness unspoilt scenery from vantage points that are inaccessible by car. Single travellers
Up to 15% of every group travelling with Great Rail Journeys can be single travellers, with the rest of the group consisting of couples or groups of 2 (or more friends). The sociable atmosphere of our holidays make our holidays very popular with single travellers. The many other advantages of travelling as part of a group that is accompanied by a Tour Manager include increased safety , being advised what the best places are to visit and never having to dine alone.
Every train journey to Europe from our "Holidays for Single Travellers" programme features extra details to make them more suitable for people travelling alone, such as smaller group sizes and welcome drinks on the first evening. There is no single supplement on rail tours from our "Holidays for Single Travellers" programme. All guests who are travelling alone have a private hotel room for their sole use, which will have an en suite bathroom.
