The welcoming Astra Hotel has been under the supervision of the Ming family for more than fifty years. Located opposite the railway station and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Geneva, the hotel is a consistent favourite with customers in many respects, winning Great Rail Journeys' awards for food in 2008, and service in 2009. In 2010, the hotel won our Gold Award for its outstanding customer service and in 2011 it won the Gold Award for Best Overall Hotel in Switzerland.

Having risen to prominence in the Middle Ages, today Vevey retains a number of classic features, such as its Medieval Old Town, elegant arcades and attractive market square. No less than fourteen of its buildings are listed as monuments of Swiss national significance, which, along with its collection of interesting museums, make Vevey a joy to discover. Furthermore, with its excellent rail connections to both mountain summits and bustling cities, Vevey is also a wonderful base from which to discover much of the beautiful surrounding landscape.

The Astra boasts a wide range of fantastic leisure facilities, crowned by its rooftop Panoramic Spa. Ideal for the warmer months, the spa overlooks the lush vineyards above the hotel. The superb complex also includes a jacuzzi, sauna, solarium and fitness suite. There are also a number of dining options at the hotel; there are two restaurants and a Brasserie, as well as the cosy Orient Express Bar and a snack bar.
