Hotel Estheréa, Amsterdam 

The 4-star Hotel Estheréa is a small traditional hotel housed 17th century buildings on the banks of Amsterdam's Singel Canal. Opened in 1940 the hotel is a third-generation family-run hotel. Its location in the heart of the city means that Dam Square and museums are within walking distance. This elegant hotel is full of character with wood panelling and has a library, a lounge and bar, while rooms are equipped with a telephone, television, minibar and hairdryer.

The Hotel Estheréa won Great Rail Journeys' Silver Award for its excellent standard of customer service in 2010 and the Gold Award for Food in 2011.
