Canada's Rocky Mountaineer: Classes of Service

There are three classes of travel on the famous Rocky Mountaineer train, which covers a range of routes through some of the finest scenery in North America. Details of each of the travel classes are outlined below together with a fantastic Rocky Mountaineer video.

Red Leaf Class

Customers will enjoy journeys on the Rocky Mountaineer in Red Leaf Service, which includes comfortable, reclining seats that rotate to form 'conversation groups' of four and large picture windows in the carriages, which are all restored to a high standard. Each carriage is staffed with a knowledgeable and helpful attendant who provides an interpretive commentary, giving interesting and informative talks on the places and sights passing by. Complimentary cold meals, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are served at your seat throughout the journey.

Silver Leaf Class

Silver Leaf is the newest, specially designed service. It is a single level coach, with a glass dome and large, angled windows designed to maximise the views. There are comfortable reclining chairs, which are swivel-enabled, so that passengers can form 'conversation groups' of four with others around them. Dining in Silver Leaf class is also a great experience. There is an at-seat service, so you can enjoy a delicious meal whilst taking in the passing vistas, and enjoying the on-board commentary, given by the friendly and attentive staff.

Gold Leaf Class

Gold Leaf is the original, established, custom-designed class of travel. The ultimate tier of the Rocky Mountaineer experience, Gold Leaf class allows customers to travel in style in a custom-designed bi-level Dome Coach. On the top level guests can lose themselves in the enchanting overhead views from the glass roof as they sink into the sumptuous reclining seats. Downstairs, a top class restaurant serving hot, award-winning gourmet meals, and an outdoor viewing platform can be found, giving you the opportunity to absorb the clean, crisp mountain air as well as the staggering scenery.  As with both Red and Silver Leaf Class, an attendant will provide live commentary as well as light refreshments and snacks throughout the journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer train.
