The city of Logrono is the capital of La Rioja and the centre of production and trade for the region's famous wines. It is located close to the geographical centre of La Rioja on the banks of the River Ebro.
The city has an attractive Old Town, encircled by ancient medieval town walls. This part of the city is on the famous Pilgrimage Route of St James.
