Day 1 - To Paris on the Eurostar and on to Turin
You'll depart London St Pancras and journey to Paris, connecting to the high speed TGV train to Turin where you'll check into your hotel.

Day 2 - Turin to Rome
Before departing for Rome, there's time to explore the magic of Turin - Italy's fourth largest city. Here you'll find a host of museums, cafes and colonnaded walkways to entice and enchant. Perhaps you'll visit the Duomo - the city's stunning renaissance cathedral and resting place of the Turin shroud.

Day 3 - Imperial Rome

This awe-inspiring structure is the biggest amphitheatre in the world and has witnessed horror, passion and excitement as home to gladiatorial fights and competitive games. Whilst at the Colosseum, take a trip to the nearby Palatine Hill to see relics of Rome's great palaces.

Day 4 - Enchanting Rome
There are so many breathtaking sights to enjoy in Rome you'll be spoilt for choice. Why not begin with a visit to Rome's largest Baroque fountain - the Trevi Fountain. Adorned with magnificent statues, it is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful fountains in the world. Or perhaps you'll choose a guided tour of the Vatican and enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. Whatever your religious beliefs, you cannot fail to be touched by the splendour and history of this most holy site.

Of course, although the streets of Rome are famous for their passion and vitality - it's always possible to find a quiet moment to sit and simply relax whilst in Rome. Head to the top of one of the city's seven hills to enjoy magnificent views - or rest with a cappuccino in one of the city's many pavement cafes.

Day 5 - Depart Rome
Say Arrivederci to Rome as you transfer to Rome airport on the convenient train shuttle service from Termini station for your scheduled flight back to the UK.

Day 1 - Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
When you're welcomed aboard the iconic Orient Express Pullman at London Victoria station you'll be forgiven for feeling like the star on a film set . The sublime Art Deco marquetry of the interior and exquisite attention to detail set the tone for the quality of service you'll enjoy on your trip. While you sip a Bellini and tuck into a sumptuous brunch, the train makes its way from the capital to the coast. Once on the continent, you'll board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express for the overnight leg of the journey, which includes a lavish four-course dinner prepared by French chefs.

Day 2 - Through the Alps to Italy
In the morning, you'll be greeted with breakfast in your cabin and spectacular views of Northern Switzerland waiting behind your blinds. The train then winds its way through the Austrian Alps, pausing in the charming Tyrolean resort of Innsbruck. From there, you continue south through the Dolomites to Verona, famous for its opera and star-crossed lovers. By late afternoon you'll reach your destination, Venice's Santa Lucia station on the banks of the Grand Canal - a short walk from your hotel in the heart of the Old Town, which is your base for the next 3 days.

Day 3 - Exploring Venice
A great way to see Venice is to simply stroll and see where your footsteps take you. In every direction, you'll discover fairytale architecture, romantic bridges and waterfront bars. With no traffic, Venice has a unique and relaxed atmosphere and it's easy to fall for the city's charms. Of course, although it's easy to spend the day simply wandering, you won't want to miss some of Venice's key highlights including the three graces: the Byzantine St Mark's Basilica, the Venetian Gothic Doge's Palace and the Renaissance Torre dell'Orologio. Alternatively, take a trip on a gondola for an unbeatable view of the city from the water. Although incredibly beautiful by day, Venice is even more enchanting by night. As darkness begins to fall, the city lights up and the best place to enjoy the magic is in St Mark's Square where the sound of orchestras fills the evening air.

Day 4 - Discovering Hidden Venice
There's plenty to explore away from the hustle and bustle of St Mark's Square and the Grand Canal. The beauty of Venice is that wherever you are, you're just a bridge or secluded alley away from a hidden treasure - be it a charming piazza or sublime local restaurant - and all you need to find it is a map and a sense of adventure. When temperatures rise, cool off with a delicious gelato at the Boutique de Gelato or Alaska Gelateria, rumoured to be two of Venice's finest ice-cream parlours. Alternatively, you could take to the water on a lagoon tour of the charismatic islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello, famous for their glassblowing, coloured houses and Venetian Lace, and charming Cathedral and Basilica, respectively.

Day 5 - Venice and Return to UK
After a final morning enjoying Venice, you will make your own way to the nearby Marco Polo airport for your flight to the UK.

Day 1 - London to Turin
Your journey begins at St Pancras Station, with the Eurostar journey to Paris. From there, you'll travel by TGV to Turin, where you'll stay overnight in the 4-star Holiday Inn, located near to the elegant Via Roma and the grand Piazza Castello.

Day 2 - Turin to Venice
As you continue to Venice, sit back and let the captivating countryside of Piemonte and Lombardy pass you by as the train heads eastwards to Verona, before reaching your destination - Venice Santa Lucia Station. The 4-star Hotel Papadopoli is just three

Day 4 - Venice to Florence
You leave Venice and continue towards Florence, passing through the evocative Tuscan landscape with its rolling hills, rustic farms and vineyards. On arrival in Florence why not wander down to the Ponte Vecchio and sample some of region's best wine at Le Volpi e l'Uva. Follow this with a stroll through the resplendent Bobili Gardens with its famous Isoletto, an island of lemon trees and sculptures.

Day 5 - Exploring Florence
The Duomo is one of Florence's highlights, as is the spectacular bird's-eye view of the city from its bell tower. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Florence has a multitude of artistic riches on offer, many of which can be discovered in the Uffizi gallery where you'll find masterpieces from Botticelli, Michelangelo and Da Vinci.

Day 6 - Pisa and Lucca
A short train journey from Florence are the cities of Pisa and Lucca, both wonderful day trip destinations. In Pisa, explore the city's Field of Miracles where you'll find the infamous Leaning Tower. Then head to picturesque Lucca, renowned for its silk and its most famous son, Puccini.

Day 7 - Florence to Rome
Today you'll leave Florence for Italy's vibrant capital Rome. Perhaps begin your time in the Eternal City, with a visit to Rome's largest Baroque fountain - the Trevi Fountain. Adorned with magnificent statues, it is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful fountains in the world.

Day 8 - Discovering Historic Rome
The Colosseum is an ideal starting point for a tour of the city's Roman attractions. A monument of epic proportions, this 50,000 seater stadium is the biggest amphitheatre in the world and famously hosted the goriest gladiatorial entertainment that Ancient Rome had to offer. After conquering the Colosseum, move on to the Roman Forum and Palatine, the power centre of the empire, before marvelling at Rome's best-preserved ancient building, the awe-inspiring Pantheon.

Day 9 - The Mystique and Masterpieces of Rome
No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican. Here you can enjoy an unforgettable visit to St Peter's Basilica - the mother church of Catholicism. Queue with the pious to kiss the toe of St Peter or head to the dome for a breathtaking city panorama. Then make your way through the church's impressive collection of art before reaching Michelangelo's stunning frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.

Day 10 - Homeward Bound
After breakfast in your hotel, you will make your way to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci airport for your flight back to the UK.
