Rail Tours in Namibia

Sparse desert landscapes contrast with oasis towns and striking coastline to create an epic backdrop on a Namibia train holiday.  Experience luxury rail travel aboard the famous Pride of Africa and keep your eyes peeled for the country's famous wildlife which includes giraffes, rhinos, elephants, lions, leopards and cheetahs.  The spectacular sand dunes of Sossusvlei are the highest in the world and reach heights of 300m.  During sunrise the dunes continually change colour creating truly striking images, which are unmissable on any Namibia train holiday.  There are also many historic sights including the numerous shipwrecks along the Skeleton Coast and the former mining town of Kolmanskop.

The summer months (February - November) are the wettest in Namibia, although average rainfall throughout the year is low.  Weather can be extreme (particularly in Southern Namibia) during this time - hot during the day and cold at night, so be sure to pack many layers of clothing for your Namibia train holiday

The Namibian Dollar is fixed to the South African Rand and both are widely accepted throughout the country.  If your train tour through Namibia visits other South African countries it may be more convenient to only exchange your money into the South African Rand, which can be used during other parts of your Namibia Train holiday.
