About me 

I have worked with Great Rail Journeys since 2008 after escaping from full time employment. I've always been keen on travel, transport and tourism and love leading customers to fascinating destinations all over the world. My career was in broadcasting where some of the disciplines are remarkably similar. Making sure you tie in with a train's departure time is just like ensuring the news goes out exactly on time. I spent many years organising schedules and rotas and reacting to the unexpected and I think that has stood me in good stead.

Favourite Tour 

Picking a favourite tour is difficult - they are all great! If pushed I might select the USA Coast to Coast holiday. It is a way of capturing a fantastic snapshot of the States in three weeks - and getting to know more about this diverse nation than many Americans do in a lifetime!

Hobbies 

I'd never admit to being a "trainspotter" but I am interested in transport - railways in particular. I also enjoy listening to jazz, am interested in consumer affairs and am fascinated by 20^th century history. I hardly ever watch television!

Travel Advice 

Don't get upset if plans change, do indulge your sense of adventure and eat, drink and shop like a local.
