About Me
I have been a Tour Manager for over 5 years, following a long career in the railway supply industry. By the end of the year I will have completed 38 tours - covering 29 different tours in the Great Rail Journeys programme! I am often asked by customers to recommend a tour to them for their next trip. My advice is take a quiet evening to study the brochures and you will certainly find a tour to meet your particular requirements.
Favourite Tour
I find it almost impossible to choose a favourite tour due to the great diversity of tours offered by Great Rail Journeys; each one crafted to suit the area visited and to get the best out of both the familiar and lesser-known of its features. I of course have my favourite places; who could fail to marvel at the beauty of Venice or be fascinated by Vienna and Prague?
Hobbies
My hobbies include railway modelling, genealogy, cycling, reading biographies and European history.
Travel Advice
Don't be tempted to take too much luggage - stay within the Great Rail Journeys' recommendation and life will be much easier. Also, if a difficulty should arise tell your Tour Manager immediately - don't wait until the end of the tour!
