About Me
I was a police officer for 30 years. I spent all my service in uniform, about half of that within the traffic department. My career as a police officer equipped me with the ability to deal with all of life's problems and to communicate well with people. In addition, I have always had an interest in railways and enjoy travelling. Over the years my wife and I have travelled around most of Europe by train, so being a Tour Manager is the perfect role now I have retired. I meet wonderful people and enjoy keeping them informed about the tour they are on.
Favourite Tour
I love scenery, especially mountains, so my personal favourite is the Classic Glacier Express (Brig-Chur) tour where majestic mountain scenery and the numerous snow-capped peaks are easily accessible by mountain railways.
Hobbies
I have always had an interest in railways since being a very young boy. I also enjoy travelling, walking and photography.
Travel Advice
Lay out what you think you need for your holiday then halve it! People always pack too much. How many items do you often bring back that have never been worn?!
