Single travellers as part of the Great Rail Journeys Group 

Most of our groups have single travellers within them, which is no doubt due to the benefits of travelling as part of a group. Up to 15% of the groups on holidays from our main programme can be people travelling alone. The remainder of our groups are couples or two (or more) friends travelling together. Our holidays are very sociable and there is always someone to talk to. Meal times in particular are an opportunity to socialise with your fellow travellers: groups normally share tables and talk about the day's events.

During the holidays our Tour Managers make sure that our single travellers are looked after as well as our other passengers and that everyone who wants to take part in arranged activities feels involved. By travelling in a group you are able to make new friends and may even meet future travelling companions. Unfortunately we do have to pass on the cost of sole hotel or cabin use, but we do try to keep these charges to a minimum.
